Hi everyone,

I lately got access to an EL-6 machine and the wish to see this project
come through came back.
A long last wish was to rewrite R2spec to (imho) a better state, this is
now done (announce [1]) and soon the version 4.1.0 will be release.
Using this new R2spec (adjusted as needed) on this machine, I have
decided to start building RPMs.
Took a little bit of time (even after some mock tuning), but I am now in
a state where I believe I built what I could automatically and to go
further I'll have to dig in by hand.

A friend of mine agreed to provide hosting, I bought the r-repo.org
domain name where I put a wordpress for blog and documentation.
I added your names on the about page as former participant but if you
are still interested or if you don't want to have your name there,
please let me know (also if you have blog/website to which you would
like the page to link to, let me know).

I am now at the stage of signing and uploading the RPMs, then I'll have
to create r-repo-release RPM with the gpg key, upload it, document a bit
more and we should have the first release ready.
I hope to have something we can test before the end of the week and the
official release after Christmas holidays.

I am thinking to create a couple of github/gitorious repo
1) r-repo which would contain all the spec files
2) r-repo-scripts which would contain the script I used to build the
RPMs

I am still thinking on using this mailing-list for communicating and
maybe the wiki to document the process used.

I realize that this project has been in stand-by for a while, is there
still some interest ?

Hope this helps,
Regards,
Pierre
