I was going to take a crack at that next week as well. I need to look back at Ewans message to the bioperl list regarding how he envisions writable BioSQL features will look... all we really need is the index number of the database entry to be attached to everything that comes out of it, and then have some way of flagging it as being modified, unmodified, or new... and we will have to store the table and index of everything that is deleted during a session. We can connect the write-back to the "commit changes" button on the main Genquire screen (which currently has no function at all, but was put there exactly for this purpose). It doesn't sound like a *fun* job, but it probably wont cause too many headaches... and hey! The more, the merrier :-) M Elia Stupka wrote: > > We have a new addition to our developers family - welcome Elia Stupka! > > He's going to Fugu-ize Genquire :-) > > Hello there, > > actually to start with I will be installing genquire over a large biosql > server that I am setting up, then with time we will probably look into > proper write-back to biosql. > > Elia > > -- > ******************************** > * http://www.fugu-sg.org/~elia * > * tel: +65 874 1467 * > * mobile: +65 90307613 * > * fax: +65 777 0402 * > ********************************
