Thanks,
I found some of the docs on the NERC website. How much in danger of closing down is your Bioinformatics service? What's Wallingford like?
Cheers
Thomas

Dear Bio-Linux Administrator,
As many of you already know, a business plan substantially restructuring and resizing of the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (CEH) has been put forward and is currently under consultation.
The NERC Environmental Bioinformatics Centre (NEBC) is based at CEH Oxford, one of the five CEH sites that this plan proposes closing down.
We believe that the NEBC benefits from its central location and the facilities, for example academic facilities and links as well as strong transportation links, and we would welcome your participation in the consultation process that is currently taking place.
If you wish to contribute to the consultation, further details about the plans and a link to a consultation form can be found at:
http://www.nerc.ac.uk/consult/ceh/
The deadline for contributions is February 15, 2006.
We are aware of a couple of newspaper articles that have been published about the proposed CEH site closures:
http://news.independent.co.uk/environment/article337399.ece
http://www.theherald.co.uk/features/54203.html
If you happen to notice any media reports about CEH, it would be great if you could let us know.
If you have any questions, please email Dawn or me.
(I'm sorry for cross posting this message, but there are individuals on this list that are not on other NEBC mailing lists.)
best wishes,
Bela and Dawn
